So I do realize that the title says ‘Fort Lauderdale in December’ and it is now March…2013. 3 months overdue, not bad, for me anyways. I’m going to use my usual excuse that it was just crazy busy. Which it really was and still is. I will try to make more of a conscious effort to post regularly and hopefully gain some sort of readership. Dunno why anyone would want to tune into my oh-so-boring life but hey, people have done crazier things.
L and I went to Fort Lauderdale last December for about a week after Christmas to spend some time with his lovely grandparents who don’t live there. They just happen to have this super awesome place there. We would have gone for longer but a week was about all I could muster up since I just started a new job just two months prior.
Anyways, here are some pictures. *WARNING – this is going to be a very long and very picture heavy post. Don’t say I didn’t warn you*
L and I at the airport. Holy crap, I definitely packed on the pounds at that time
Obligatory movator pic
L being L *nonna in the background making what else? pasta*
Our breakfast snack everyday. I definitely gained weight on this trip
24 degrees celsius of awesomeness. Eat that, Canadian winter
L looking badass on the Harley that he insisted we rent since he didn’t want to ship his down. Might I add that it cost an arm and a leg and possibly half of our livers to rent this damn thing for 3 days. YMMV
Obligatory panoramic iphone shot
Cute little sandpipers? Is that what they’re called? Anyways, these little guys were fast!
We went to the Hardrock Seminole Casino. We played some three card poker. Here’s his earnings, not bad for starting with $100. Of course, I lost everything.
On new year’s day, we went to the Holiday Everglades Park for an airboat tour and this pretty guy was just strutting his stuff in the parking lot. NBD.
You can’t really see it here but there were so many crows/ravens! It was creepy as shit. Very Bates Motel.
There were so many of these little birds there! They were so friendly and just came out to the boat, no fear at all! The ecosystem there is just thriving!
This bird is beautiful in person! It’s too bad you can’t see just how vibrant the colours are!
Holy crap! An alligator!
Hail to the Chiefette!
For $10, you too, can hold your very own baby alligator!
Cute sitting area in L’s grandparents’ place. Note the marble floors! Everything was so plush and luxurious!
There’s so much more pictures but it’s all of the same stuff, so nothing crazy exciting. Plus, I’m feeling really lazy right now. Deal.
